Soft Power, Lightness, and Listening (int/adv) expanding vocabulary, and taking the dance into a more rich and complex array of states and spaces.  The intermediate/advanced classes interweave 3 streams of study: refining and expanding the fundamentals to more physically adventurous places, integrating principles of release technique, and exploring and integrating tangential focuses of psychological, theatrical, and aesthetic nature. Looking at the fundamentals, we take the dance farther off-balance, higher through the air, and more pliably able to follow a mutual falling into more complex and subtle pathways.  Release-work develops more intelligent and present use of the body through subtle and gross-level technical study of body organization/reaction.  We look at ways that energy is wasted on muscling mass around and on unconscious stabilizing and learn to feed that energy instead into faster and more 3-dimensionally expansive and articulate movement through the space.  We look at how to maintain a process of intelligent body-reorganization in the context of both surface level softening and core-level passive sequencing.

From this very physical base of study, we let ourselves venture down different rabbit holes of exploration, opening up contact as a playground of self-study. We look to integrate animal abandon with aesthetics, intention and a sense of playful study of mind, body, and heart.
